It’s hard to believe that I was only in San Francisco for little more than two years. The days seemed more packed back then, even though, compared to now, there was a lot more idle time. It’s the perception of time, though. They days seem bigger and denser the younger you are the fewer you’ve counted. My creative activities in San Francisco were a bit of writing, but mostly music and publication.

Musically, the primary thing was Everything Must Go.

Publishing came out of nowhere. This was at the dawn of the Internet age, so zines were still a big thing in most cities. There were zines focused on everything you could think of

Everything Must Go was a music project spanning 9 months in San Francisco, California. The band members were Pepe Mómo, on Guitar and Vocals, myself, on Bass and Vocals, under the pseudonym Umlaüt Javier, Friedrich Homefries on Drums and Vocals, Velvet Schuss on Accordion and Vocals. Mostly the band was just Pepe and Umlaüt.

Eponymous first album. Initially all songs were titled Layla, even though there was not a cover among them.
